Resources for VCE Extended Investigation

Introduction

VCE Extended Investigation requires self motivation and resilience in tackling an extended and detailed investigation. The student must meet a number of milestones over the duration of the study: formulating a question, researching the field, designing a methodology, collecting and analysing data, and reporting on findings. The purpose of VCE Extended Investigation is to test a student’s ability to think critically rather than their knowledge of a specific field. The research area of the student’s investigation is a means for them to demonstrate critical thinking and research skills.

VCE Extended Investigation presents an opportunity for students to engage in inquiry-based learning, pursue an academic interest that they have and focus on a problem for an extended amount of time.
