Trove helps you to find and use resources relating to Australia:
books, images, historic newspapers, maps, music, archives and more.
Use the Search box to go directly to Trove
If you are a member of any of the libraries below, you can log in using your library card number and access many of their electronic subscriptions and databases, such as Encyclopaedias, Reference sites etc. All of these could be of immense value to your studies.
Becoming a member of one of these libraries is quite easy.
For the Goldfields Library, visit and fill in a form to join.
For the State and National Libraries, it is just a matter of clicking on the link and filling out an on-line application form. It will not cost you anything, and your card will usually arrive in the post within a week.
Once you have your card it's just a matter of going on-line and using your card number to access electronic databases and encyclopaedias.
Instructions on how to borrow an ebook and/or audiobook:
To find and borrow a book:
Use the search bar at the top to look for a book. Narrow your choices using the sidebar to see only ebooks or audiobooks, or specific genres.
Click the book you are interested in.
To sample the book select Look Inside to read or listen to the first few pages without borrowing.
Click Borrow to read the entire book.
Returns and renewals
No need to worry about forgetting the due date – the book will automatically return after 2 weeks. If you do finish it early you can also Return the book so it becomes available to others.
If a book is not available straight away, click Reserve and the book will be yours when the other person returns it.
